<p>En unik mosaik har påträffats i anslutning till en stor romersk villa i närheten av brittiska Rutland. Mosaiken som mäter hela 11&#215;7 m är belägen på privat mark och visar scener ur Illiaden, närmare bestämt striden och dess eftermäle mellan Akilles och Hector. Motivet är en av endast ett fåtal liknande i Europa och förutom mosaiken som dateras till 200-300-talet e.kr har arkeologerna även funnit sentida mänskliga kvarlevor i dess rasmassor, ett fynd som kan hjälpa arkeologerna att ta reda på mer om hur de romerska villorna användes efter att imperiet föll. </p>

<p>A unique mosaic has recently been found in a large Roman villa near British Rutland. The mosaic, which measures a full 11&#215;7 m, is located on private land and shows scenes from the Illiad, more specifically the battle and its aftermath between Achilles and Hector. The motif is one of only a few similar in Europe and in addition to the mosaic, which dates to the 3-4th century AD, archaeologists have also found human remains in the rubble above the floor level, a find that can help archaeologists find out more about how the Roman the villas were used after the fall of the empire.</p>
