Norskt par fann rester efter vikingatida grav under sitt hus
Ett par i norska Bodø har påträffat vad som tros vara en hittills okänd vikingatida grav under deras hus. De ovanliga fynden gjordes i samband med att ny golvisolering skulle läggas i huset, då bland annat en glaspärla och en yxa påträffades. Paret som bor i huset, uppfört 1914, kontaktade det lokala museet som bekräftade att bostaden förmodligen byggts ovanpå en hittills okänd grav som av fynden att döma kan daterad till sen vikingatid.
Nu väntar en 5 dagar lång undersökning av det som återstår av graven, då arkeologerna misstänker att fler fynd kan finnas längre ned i jorden.
?? A couple in norwegian Bodø have found what is thought to be a previously unknown viking age grave under their house. The unusual finds were made while new floor insulation was being installed, and among the finds were a glass bead and a metal axe. The couple living in the house, built in 1914, and who made the discovery contacted the local museum who confirmed that the house had most likely been built upon a previously unknown grave, judging by the finds dating to the late viking age.
Now a 5 day long excavation is being undertaken of what is left of the grave, since the archaeologists suspect there might be more finds further down in the ground.
