Man döms till dagsböter för orapporterade fynd med metalldetektor
I slutet av 2019 fann mannen i Västerbotten ett så kallad depåfynd från yngre järnåldern (Vikingatid) bestående av 25 metallföremål, bland annat pilspetsar och smycken. Mannen som påträffat fyndet med hjälp av metalldetektor visade senare några av fynden hos Västerbottens museum, som informerade länsstyrelsen och gjorde en besiktning av den aktuella fyndplatsen. Då det under utredningen framkom att mannen inte haft tillstånd av länsstyrelsen att bruka metalldetektor samt inte genast meddelat instansen om fyndet döms nu mannen till dagsböter för brott mot Kulturmiljölagen.

In the autumn of 2019 a man from Swedish Västerbotten found a Viking Age hoard made up of 25 bronze object, among other things arrow heads and jewellery. The man had found the objects with the help of a metal detector and later showed the artefacts to Västerbotten museum, who informed Länsstyrelsen and conducted a survey of the find spot. During the assestment of the case it became clear that the man had used the metal detector without a permit from Länsstyrelsen, and he has now been found guilty of crime against the Cultural Environment Act and will be fined.
